Handover Dialogue – UN special rapporteur on the right to health

In the course of the handover talks between the former Special Rapporteur on the right to health Dainius Pūras to the new mandate holder Tlaleng Mofokeng we presented the work of the runaway house. The event can be viewed again here.

The discussion paper accompanying the event identifies the featured projects – the Run Away House, Wildflower Alliance, Intentional Peer Support, MH First Oakland – as “a group of experts and activists working together to bring rights-based approaches to mental health, gender justice, and harm reduction. Together, they bring an emancipatory vision, cross-sector collaboration, and a process of empowerment to the people who use their community-led services. These are the alternatives to the status quo that the mandate can point policymakers to.” The discussion paper can be read here.
